How much does a website cost in 2026?
A simple brochure website for a small business in 2026 typically costs PLN 2,000–5,000 excluding VAT with a freelancer and PLN 4,000–10,000 excluding VAT with an agency. You also pay annually for the domain (an average of around PLN 120–150 including VAT to renew a .pl domain) and hosting (usually PLN 200–500 including VAT per year). Below I explain these costs and how to avoid overpaying.
Website prices in 2026: comparison table
These are indicative ranges from a comparison of freelancer and agency prices from April 2026, rather than a price list for every website provider. The cost depends on the scope and what the offer includes. Prices in the table exclude 23% VAT.
| Website type | Price excluding VAT |
|---|---|
| Brochure website (3–5 pages) with a freelancer | PLN 2,000–5,000 |
| Brochure website (3–5 pages) with an agency | PLN 4,000–10,000 |
| Landing page (one page for an ad campaign) | PLN 1,500–5,000 |
| Business website with a blog | PLN 5,000–18,000 |
| Online shop | PLN 8,000–50,000 |
What affects the price of a website
The scope matters more than the name of the service. A “website” could mean one page with a phone number or a shop with payments. These are the main factors in a quote:
- Number of pages. A brochure website usually includes a homepage, services with prices and contact details. Each extra service with its own page means more work.
- Who supplies the text and photos. If you provide ready-to-use text and photos, you pay less. Copywriting and a photo shoot are separate costs.
- Features. A contact form, online booking, a second language, a blog or a shop. The more that happens behind the scenes, the higher the cost.
- Design. A ready-made template costs less than a design from scratch, but it is more likely to look like a competitor’s website.
- System. WordPress and similar systems let you edit content yourself, but need updates. A simple website without a content management system is faster and cheaper to maintain, but the person who builds it makes the changes.
- Turnaround time. Agencies often quote several weeks. Rush delivery may cost extra.
Annual costs: domain, hosting and maintenance
Building the website is only part of the cost. It stays online only if you renew the domain and hosting each year. Keep them in your name rather than the provider’s, so you can switch providers at any time.
| Cost | Annual cost including VAT | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| .pl domain | around PLN 120–150 on average, ranging from PLN 63 to PLN 221 | Check the renewal price, not the first-year price (HostGrade, September 2026) |
| Hosting | usually PLN 200–500, with the cheapest plans from around PLN 50 | The first year may be discounted (jakwybrachosting.pl, September 2026) |
| Maintenance and changes | optional with me: PLN 575.64 | PLN 39 excluding VAT (PLN 47.97 including VAT) per month; other providers’ prices depend on the scope |
Offers such as a “free domain” often cost more after a few years because the registrar recovers the discount through renewal fees. Check the renewal price before buying. The cheapest hosting plan is usually enough for a lightweight brochure website.
How much does a brochure website cost?
A brochure website has a few pages covering what customers want to know: what you do, what it costs, where you are and how to book. Market prices typically range from PLN 2,000 to PLN 5,000 excluding VAT with a freelancer. My brochure website with up to 3 pages, a form and a directions map costs PLN 349 excluding VAT and is ready within 2 weeks of receiving the content. See what it looks like in the sample hair salon website.
Website subscription or a one-off payment?
Subscription websites offer a low upfront cost, but you pay every month for as long as the website is online. For example, PLN 199 excluding VAT per month over 3 years totals PLN 7,164 excluding VAT for the subscription. With a one-off payment, you pay once for the build, then for the domain, hosting and any changes or maintenance. Compare the full cost over the same period and check what happens to the website and domain if you cancel.
What to check in a website quote
- Including or excluding VAT. An unlabelled price may exclude VAT. If you cannot deduct VAT, add 23%.
- Who owns the domain and hosting accounts. Ideally, you do. That way, your website does not depend on the provider.
- What is included. Number of pages, form, map, preparation for Google and mobile layout.
- Number of revisions. Ask how many rounds of changes are included and what extra rounds cost.
- Deadline and payment. Paying in instalments is safer, for example half upfront and half on acceptance.
- Costs after the first year. Ask for a list of all annual fees to avoid surprises at renewal.
Questions about website costs
Does a website costing a few hundred złoty make sense?
Yes, if you need a simple brochure website with services, prices, opening hours and contact details. It does not need a complex system. It is unsuitable if you need a shop, integrations or dozens of pages.
How much does website upkeep cost?
At minimum, you need a domain and hosting. The cheapest combinations start at around PLN 115 including VAT per year; a typical cost is around PLN 320–650 including VAT per year. Maintenance may be extra if you want someone to make changes for you.
How much does adding a form or online booking cost?
My contact form costs PLN 149 excluding VAT, and online appointment booking costs PLN 299 excluding VAT as a one-off payment, with no subscription. Both also work on existing websites, such as WordPress or Wix.
How long does building a website take?
A simple brochure website usually takes a few days to a few weeks. The wait is most often for text and photos rather than the provider. I build websites within 2 weeks of receiving the content.
