Booksy or your own booking calendar: what it really costs
Booksy Biz costs PLN 145 excluding VAT per month for the first team member and PLN 35 excluding VAT for each additional member. For a new customer from Booksy search, you pay a one-off commission of 45% of their first appointment’s value (up to PLN 250 excluding VAT). Your own website booking calendar has a one-off cost and no commission, but does not bring in new customers. Below are the costs and when to choose each option.
How much Booksy Biz costs
Figures from the official Booksy Biz price list, checked on 9 October 2026. Prices exclude VAT and rates may change, so check the current price list before deciding.
| Item | Price excluding VAT |
|---|---|
| Subscription: first team member in the calendar | PLN 145 per month |
| Each additional team member | PLN 35 per month (no additional charge from the tenth person onwards) |
| Boost: a new customer from Booksy search | 45% of the services’ value at their first completed appointment, up to PLN 250 |
| Mobile payments | 1.89% of the amount including VAT plus PLN 0.49 including VAT per transaction |
| Trial period | 7 days |
What this means in practice
You pay the subscription before any customer books. With several team members in the calendar, it increases by PLN 35 for each additional person:
| Team | Monthly | Annually | Over 3 years |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 person | PLN 145 | PLN 1,740 | PLN 5,220 |
| 3 people | PLN 215 | PLN 2,580 | PLN 7,740 |
| 5 people | PLN 285 | PLN 3,420 | PLN 10,260 |
Boost is extra, but only for new customers who found you through Booksy search. For example, a first appointment worth PLN 120 means PLN 54 commission; PLN 300 means PLN 135. From around PLN 556 for a first appointment, commission is capped at PLN 250. A PLN 200 mobile payment costs PLN 4.27 (1.89% plus PLN 0.49).
How much your own booking calendar costs
Your own calendar lets people book on your website without an external platform. My online appointment booking costs PLN 299 excluding VAT (PLN 367.77 including VAT) as a one-off payment, with no subscription. Customers choose an available slot, receive confirmation and a reminder the day before, and you get an email for every booking. Domain and hosting are extra if you do not already have them. Maintenance — changes and checking everything works — is optional at PLN 39 excluding VAT per month.
Three-year comparison for one team member: Booksy Biz costs PLN 5,220 excluding VAT for the subscription alone. Your own calendar costs PLN 299 excluding VAT, or PLN 1,703 excluding VAT with maintenance (PLN 299 plus 36 × PLN 39). Booksy’s subscription alone exceeds PLN 299 in the third month (3 × PLN 145 = PLN 435).
They serve different purposes
The cost comparison is only part of the picture, because these are two different services:
- Booksy is an app and a marketplace where customers find services. You pay for a ready-made salon system with an app, calendar and payments, plus the chance to reach new customers. If you rely on new customers from the marketplace, Boost may pay off.
- Your own calendar handles bookings on your website. It does not bring in new customers, but there is no commission. It suits businesses whose customers already come through referrals, Google and Instagram, and who want them to book where they see the business’s own brand.
- You can use both. Just make sure appointments do not overlap. My calendar checks your Google Calendar: any time marked busy disappears from the available slots.
Which to choose
| If… | Consider… |
|---|---|
| You need new customers and a salon app | Booksy, after calculating Boost costs |
| Customers return and refer others, and you want to avoid a subscription and commission | Your own calendar on your website |
| You have a small, one-person salon with many new customers from the marketplace | Calculate Boost commission for a typical month and compare it with the subscription |
| You want everything in your own account and the freedom to switch providers | Your own calendar (data in your account, website owned by you) |
Questions and answers
Does Booksy charge commission on every appointment?
According to the official price list, you pay a subscription, fees for additional team members, a one-off Boost commission for new customers from Booksy search, and mobile payment fees. Check the current terms directly in Booksy’s price list.
Can my own calendar replace Booksy?
It can replace appointment booking on your website. It does not replace the marketplace that brings new customers or the salon app. That is why some salons use both.
Does my own calendar charge commission?
No. You pay once for the build (PLN 299 excluding VAT), and maintenance is optional. See it working live.
Will this work on my WordPress or Wix website?
Yes, the calendar can be added to existing WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, Shoper and similar websites. I only need access to the admin panel and check compatibility before payment.
